Tools and crew never arrive on time!

Working a 12 to 18-hour day takes its toll on the small contracting business owner.  Between ensuring your team contracted to do the job have arrived on time and are doing the work, to confirming that supplies for the job or jobs are on site, down to visiting potential new clients, are all important aspects that need your constant attention.

The unique SME ASSET APP assists small businesses in the contracting industry to control their assets which includes their people on the ground, the tools and vehicles they use, so that you can make sure they are at the job when they need to be there and save yourself on costs, productivity and risk.

One of the most important aspects of a small business in the contracting industry is to know where their assets are.  What are these assets? Only the tools and inventory required to do the job? Your workforce is also an asset, and are the most important asset you have, along with the vehicle they travel in to arrive at the job.  Without the people doing the job, you would not have the ability to complete the work on time.

While you have advised your client that your crew will be arriving at a specific time to begin the job, and the team lead has advised you they are on site, you get a phone call from said client to say that your crew has not arrived.  Who do you believe?  The client or the crew?  While trust is a very important factor in any business, if your crew do not arrive at the time specified, the trust your new client has is rapidly diminishing.

An hour later you receive another phone call.  This time from the team lead – they do not have all the tools to complete the job efficiently.  You begin to realise that this will have a serious impact on your reputation with the client.  What do you need to do to make sure the team have their full quota of tools with them when they leave your premises?

The team lead of your second crew gives you a call. He doesn’t have bolts and nuts to install the gutters!  You know that you ordered enough to complete the job.  And the vehicle assigned to that team is not on site.  Another unhappy client and your stress levels are increasing at a rapid rate.

You think about this and wonder if there is an application that can assist you in ensuring that all these assets – workforce, tools, inventory and vehicles are where they should be at the correct time.

Well help is at hand.  An SME business asset app has been developed that will allow you to know that all your assets are on site, on time.  It is called CrewOnSite!

What will it offer you?

  • The capacity to ensure productivity is enhanced through time saving, reduced effort, decreased hassles, having the correct information on hand and transparency allows you to improve your relationship with your clients.
  • Operationally the system will simplify your processes. Access to the system includes data availability.
  • Economically the use of these systems should increase your top line which can lead to a reduction of unnecessary overhead costs.
  • From a performance perspective there should be an increase in product quality.
  • The ability to meet specifications, offer acceptable pricing, ensure regulatory compliance and maintain ethical standards allows you to elevate the value you offer to your clients.

What are the features?

  1. The Inventory app gives management control over stock ordered for all jobs, who has received each stock item, which job it is allocated to, the actual number of each individual item in stock and how many of each item allocated to the specific jobs, with the number of items still in stock.
  2. The Job Card app keeps track of project status on multiple job sites and captures information about the job or jobs to be completed on site. Team leads can input the status of the job, capture images of current work to date or completed work on site. Users can input a completed status and signatures in order to sign off the recorded information. Management can update new jobs to be completed or new sites on orders that have just come in.
  3. The Timesheet app allows the employer to track their employees working hours. This is achieved by the employees logging their time in and out for each work session. At the same time, a pin location is captured as the employee clocks in. The app also displays an employee photo for identification purposes. From an admin perspective, the app automatically calculates the wages on the backend, based on the employee’s number of hours worked.
  4. The Toolbox app ensures that all the tools required for each job are allocated and taken on site before the team leaves for the job.
  5. Vehicle Reservation keeps track of all the vehicles within the business, the person responsible for the vehicle, vehicle registration details and full date(s) of allocation.
